How to Build a Big Chest and a Big Bench

Want to Build a Bigger Chest and Have a Big Bench? Follow These Exercises

Bench Pressing a lot of weight doesn't guarantee that you'll have a big chest...in fact, many of the top powerlifters in the world, guys who bench 700+lbs do not have overly big pecs!

They tend to have huge triceps and big shoulders. Why?

Because the bench press is driven, by and large, but strong triceps and delts (shoulders), the pecs tend to not get as much stress as you'd think.

Therefore, if you want to build a big chest, you need to also include exercises that are more pec-specific.

Here are the 3-Best Quick Chest Building Exercises

1. Incline Dumbbell Flys

These are excellent for building the upper chest, which will give your pecs a much fuller look...and make them a hell of a lot bigger!

You want to let the Dumbbells come down slowly and stretch the pecs, then, bring them up in an arc, under control, but do not touch the dumbbells together at the end.

It looks more like you're hugging someone big, where your hands wouldn't touch at the end!

Do these at the end of your upper body workouts, after big exercises like Bench and Incline press and use high reps (3 - 5 sets of 8 - 15 reps)

2. Cable Incline Flys

Much like DB flys except the cables keep the tension constant, especially at the end point.

And, by "fighting" the cables on the way down, you prolong the lowering portion, which is responsible for the majority of muscle growth.

As with the DB's, use 3 - 5 sets of 8 - 15 reps at the end of your upper body session.

3. Slide Push-Ups

An excellent exercise for building a bigger chest!

You literally use a slide board or even weight plates to start with your hands wide and slide your hands together as you push up.

This combines the crossing of the arms, as in the flys, with an extension, as in a Push up or bench press.

Beginners might not be able to do a ton of reps on these, but, shoot for higher reps, again. This is a perfect movement for your muscle building upper body day
